Hello!

My name is Joe. I am a riparian ecologist and lover of plants. I completed my PhD at The University of Melbourne on the role of flow regime in riparian vegetation dynamics. I am currently a Research Fellow with the School of Agriculture Food and Ecosystem Sciences at The University of Melbourne. I enjoy working with Melbourne Water, Parks Victoria, Zoos Victoria, Arthur Rylah Institute, Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and others doing research to inform restoration of wetland ecosystems. My current research focuses are: restoration of swamp forests that provide critical habitat to our state’s faunal emblems; developing Traditional Owner-led research and management programs to Care for Birrarung’s billabongs; and research to better understand and manage the impacts of feral deer on our native vegetation.
